SAMOS SAMOS > How to get there By plane There are regular flights from Athens to Samos (less than 1 hour flight). The island's airport is 17 km south-west of the capital. By boat There is regular line from Piraeus for Karlovassi and Vathi (the distance is 174 nautical miles and the trip takes about 11 hours). There is also frequent service from Rafina and Thessaloniki to Samos. During the summer there is a regular service linking Kavala and the Dodecanese to Samos.
